The Antenna System Monitor (ASM) is used to measure channel-specific Tx Forward and Reflected power for up to 80 channels. The measurement of associated Rx Channels (and or other frequencies) is also available. The unique capability to perform a series of Tx-to-Rx system isolation (loop back), Rx sub-system passband gain response, and Transmitter isolation (Tx carrier rejection) tests is also provided. Four pairs of Tx Forward (FWD) and Tx Reverse (RFL) coaxial connector inputs fed from non-intrusive in-line directional couplers give the ASM the capability of monitoring the output of up to four (or more) separate transmitter combiner/antenna systems at a site. A Receive input port fed from either the site's receiver multicoupler system (and/or an external “off-air” antenna or DAS) gives the ASM the capability of monitoring receiver system signal levels, or the propagation from transmitter channels located on other sites.
Tx measurements are made using a high-directivity high-power PIM and PIP rated in-line coupler connected in the Tx combiner antenna output line. This low insertion loss coupler allows continuous 24x7 non-intrusive measurement and monitoring to be performed. All measure frequencies, channel bandwidths, alarm level thresholds and other parameters are user-configurable. A DB15 rear mounted connector also provides alarm reporting outputs that can be hardwired into external site monitoring equipment if desired. LED indicators on the front panel of the ASM allow visual confirmation of alarm conditions, and the status and configuration of the ASM is facilitated through the use of a user-friendly on-board webserver GUI.
Features include:
- Monitoring of up to 80 channels in multi-channel, digital and analogue wireless communications systems.
- Measurement of Tx Forward, Reverse (VSWR), and Rx (RSSI) level on a per-channel basis.
- Measurement of Tx-to-Rx Antenna Isolation, Rx (or TTA) system gain, Tx carrier rejection.
- 24x7 continuous and non-intrusive measurement of all parameters.
- Multiple separate paired FWD and REF inputs to accommodate single or combined transmitter inputs.
- Summary or individual fault outputs for each measurement parameter.
- SNMP v2C, SMTP (Email), UDP Manager Messages, or dry relay contact alarm outputs
- ASM supplied with one Antenna Line Coupler (additional couplers may be ordered separately if required).
- Add Site Alarm Modules (SAM) for temperature, analogue voltage, digital I/O, and multiple relay outputs.
- Add Receive Systems Module (RSM) for dual receiver and diversity receiver applications.
